Double the fun!

Here's the first public photos of Parker and Emma. Aren't they beautiful?

Emma seems to be the calm one.

Parker and I had quite the conversation. Here he is listening raptly to my wisdom.

Ashley took me back to the NICU to see the kids, and I was just so overwhelmed with emotion that I couldn't stop crying. Really. Me, Miss Devoid of Sentiment, was weeping like a child, which made Ashley cry, which made the nurses start crying.

On a much less happy note, I had my annual eye doctor appointment today, where I found out that, not only were my contacts not strong enough (hence the two-month headache), but I have the beginnings of macular degeneration. I got the speech about getting older, watching my diet, taking vitamins, and exercising for a healthy heart, which evidently prolongs the onset of the disease. Man, it stinks to get old.

Happy April Fools, everyone.

Yeah, I saw your eye scans today. So much for HIPPA, huh?

Wow, that's weird that you already have it b/c it's usually called Age-Related-Macular-Degeneration b/c it typically happens in the.... elderly. Lucky you! You have it at a YOUNG age.

(I canNOT believe Memaw has that too. Shocking.)

The twins are beautiful!

Yes, smartie pants, I know it's usually age-related. My brochure says quite plainly "usually associated with people over 40." I think it's because I'm so medically advanced that my body is wearing out. And all of my deep thinking was bound to mess up my macula.

Jen, time to update your blog. I mean, I know you're working and preparing the house to sell, but geez, some of us need to know what's going on in your life.

I will soon, I promise. The realtor is coming tomorrow so at present I am shampooing our carpets. The filth! It's embarrassing!

I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing! Your blog was the perfect break.

Lon, you'd better be nice to your babysitter or you could be missing out on the chicken and green beans Monday night.
